See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

random thing that came in my mind while i was daydreaming in class

(how do I put this into words…?)

what if tokoyami’s dark shadow isn’t what it really is?

like, what if his quirk isn’t about conjuring a monster made of shadows living inside of him, but creating creatures made of shadows in general, not dark shadow in particular. so in that case dark shadow would be just a creature that he created when he awakened his quirk and he kept recreating over and over again

he in theory could create as many creatures as he would want and in any ways and forms he would want, but he doesn’t know that. he kept recreating only dark shadow and assumed it was his quirk in its fullest.

Hello, I hope you are having a wonderful day. My question is If there were to be a quirk based on a bat what do you think it could be? I mean there's the obvious super strength option but what else could there be?

quirkwizard answered:

I think something like that could work. Pretty sure super strength would not be part of the package since bats aren’t known for being strong, aside from ones around Gotham.

I see it working as a Mutant type Quirk that gives the user the traits of a bat as a well as a more bat-like appearance. This includes the user gaining minor traits like an improved sense of hearing, smell, and sight, special nails designed for climbing, and greatly improved speed. Though the user does have two standout features with their Quirk. The first is flight, giving the user a great amount of controlled mobility, able to navigate much smaller areas and make sharper movements while still staying in the air. The second is echolocation, with the user’s body constantly emitting special vibrations that greatly improve their ability to see over an area and anything that might be in that area. This combination of speed and senses makes the user an amazing scout, easily able to survey an area with their given traits. They can fly to get around, expertly navigate small areas, gain knowledge over an entire area with their senses, locate small items or hidden people, or frighten others with their vampiric appearance. Though the user is reliant on their mobility, lacking much strength or defense with their Quirk. This goes double if the user’s wings are damaged, leaving them greatly exposed without their ability to fly. A possible name for the Quirk could be “Bat”.

Anonymous asked:

You had a Mutant type Quirk called “Bat” and GOSH, I loved reading about that!! Bats are my favorite and I was wondering if you would expand on the Quirk? Super Moves, support equipment, etc.?

quirkwizard answered:

Why thank you for saying that. I’m glad you liked the Quirk so much and I hope you like this as well.

With “Bat”, a lot of the training would be based around their senses, flight, and echolocation, like maneuvering around in a dark forest using only their flight and climbing to get around and their unique senses to guide them. Evolutions could have certain traits developing in new directions, such as their echolocation growing into a sonic scream, or gaining traits from other types of bats. Of those species, the most standout one would be the vampire bat, with the user developing fangs to drink people’s blood or gaining a greater sense of smell for blood. And while drinking blood and the sonic scream would both make for good Super Moves, you could have moves based around diving at people to slash them or picking them up and slamming them into stuff. The only support equipment they need would be some harness with handles so people could grab onto it when they are flying, and special earplugs they can adjust to help deal with their hearing. Some other fun additions could be little radios with frequencies only they can pick up as a way to track people. Maybe they could have blade extensions on their feet and wings to help them make up for their poor combat abilities and let them attack people while flying.

Anonymous asked:

Could you make that dragon teeth myth a Quirk? Specifically the idea of sprouting fully armed skeletal warriors out of the ground? It would make for an interesting minion-making Quirk.

quirkwizard answered:

I was hoping someone would ask about that idea, so thank you for that. Though with how I set up the Quirk, the skeletal equipment may be more of an evolution for this rather then an initial application of Quirk.

I see it working as a Mutant type Quirk grants the user a set of thirty-two sharp teeth around their mouth and jaw, giving the appearance of a face mask. The user may remove these teeth and throw them out, causing them to grow out into a humanoid skeleton. The skeletons are as physically capable as regular people. They are notably more durable due to only being made of bones and can continue operating despite major harm, such as losing an arm or their lower half, and can work tirelessly, like standing motionlessly on guard. The skeletons are under the total control of the user, and they can command them with their voice. The user may return them to their teeth after touching their skulls. Any teeth that are removed will grow back after a day or so. This gives the user a highly versatile Quirk, their minion’s resilience makes them highly dependable. They can fight on the user’s behalf, charge straight through enemy attacks, intimate foes with a horde of skeletons, have them traverse hazardous areas, or simply have them do chores for the user. Though the skeletons do rely on the user’s orders to operate and can be left witless if the user is incapacitated or muted. The skeletons can still be destroyed after enough damage, leaving the user on their own, and their appearance may be off-putting at best. A possible name for the Quirk could be “Skeletal”.

Omni-man flying quirk Anon. I would be interested in seeing that mental flight quirk you had mentioned in my original ask if you do not mind expanding on it further. Thank you.

quirkwizard answered:

Heya, I’m not the anon that asked about the Onmni man quirk, but I would like to see the mental moving quirk you have if you don’t mind of course.

I see it working as an Emitter type Quirk allows the user to mentally exert control over their body, as shown by a blue glow around the part they are moving. This can let the user move their body through the air as they are carried by their mental abilities. This can work to increase the user’s speed and reaction time, letting them more easily act and react without the need for the signal to travel through the body parts. The energy protects the user from various forces that would normally harm them, such as keeping the user from harming themselves if they go too fast. For example, if they move their fist faster than they normally would to strike someone. This can let the user strike with greater impact thanks to their speed, yet it wouldn’t hurt to do so. This gives the user some great mobility, letting them soar through the air without a care. They can move in spite of injuries, scout out areas, avoid incoming attacks, carry their allies, or just improve their combat prowess. Though the energy does not apply to anything other then the user and is limited in how much it can protect them, meaning they must be careful when handling applying it outside of themselves and not exert themselves too much. The Quirk does rely on the user having some focus for it to function properly. A possible name for the Quirk could be “Exertion”.

Could we please get a Quirk Marriage for Twin Impact and Whirlwind?

quirkwizard answered:

New Quirk Name: Air Strike

This Emitter type Quirk activates whenever the user makes any kind of impact with their body, even if it is something as simple as striking the air. After doing so, the user may then unleash a powerful gust of wind from wherever they strike. The gust is quite strong, easily able to knock full grown people around. The user can delay the strike, causing it to go off whenever they wish. This Quirk gives the user a lot of options, able to reliably apply their Quirk in and out of combat, only needing somewhere to strike. The user can attack foes from afar, launch themselves around with blasts of wind, move debris out of the way with a delayed blast, move allies and enemies into advantageous positions, or just add insult to injury whenever they punch someone. Though the user does need to hit something for it to work, requiring some set up beforehand. The power of the wind is dependent on the user’s own striking power, needing to extensively train their body to improve the Quirk’s power. Fire can hinder the air’s ability to travel.

Hey, I was the one who asked about a video game and isekai quirk, I would love to hear how you would make the practise makes perfect quirk work or any other idea you have! Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question in the first place

quirkwizard answered:

heyya! I was wondering if you could share that RPG quirk that you suggested? Coincidentally I was going to send in a ask for something similar.

Don’t worry, it’s not a problem. It always warms my heart to hear that people are excited to see my ideas.

I see it working as a Mutant type Quirk alters the user’s form, making them more adept at learning and retaining information. This lets the user learn and practice skills and techniques much faster than other people. Not only can they pick up on them quickly, but grow them faster as well, letting them master a skill in a fraction of the time. This can cover a wide variety of subjects, such as mental skills like math, physical skills like martial arts, or crafting skills like painting. Even more complex skills like surgery can be learned by the user. This gives the user a good mix of utility options, letting them rapidly learn and apply whatever they may need to become a jack of all trades. They can learn fighting styles faster, rapidly study information, shore up any weaknesses they may have, combine their talents together for greater effects, or just show off at parties. Though the user still only has a human body, limiting how effectively they can retain and apply all the information and requiring some physical training on their part. The user will still need to learn and practice everything they want to know, and it will still take some time. This is especially the case with difficult skillsets, so they won’t become a doctor or solider overnight. A possible name for the Quirk could be “Polymath”.

I was looking at SCP-1762 and I was wondering if there could be a quirk based around that? Maybe the user can generate a special paper which "animates" once folded into origami?

quirkwizard answered:

I’m not sure about an origami Quirk specifically since, even as a civilian Quirk, it doesn’t seem entirely useful. Even if it was folded and animated when it came out, that by itself isn’t helpful enough to really be a Quirk. Though I think I did well enough on this.

I see it working as an Emitter type Quirk that allows the user to make and manipulate a special kind of paper from their body. The paper is seemingly stronger than its regular counterpart, being more resistant to wear and tear, and can be controlled by the user even from a large distance. If the user has any knowledge on folding paper, the paper can come out in that form. For instance, the user could fire off paper throwing stars at someone and they would stab them instead of crumpling on impact. With the control and availability of their paper, the user can apply their Quirk in plenty of ways, making for a versatile ability. They can make small origami animals for distractions, make sudden weapons or armor to fight with, or just use the paper to write and send messages. The Quirk does not give the user any kind of knowledge on papercrafts, needing to learn it on their own. The Quirk does require the user to eat a lot of vegetables and fruits to help make the paper, producing less unless they keep up their diet. And while stronger, the paper is still paper, meaning it can still be burned, soaked, or ripped to destroy it. A possible name for the Quirk could be “Paper Craft”.

Anonymous asked:

I would love for you to do a quirk related to air pressure :P

quirkwizard answered:

Okay then. I’m not sure what exactly you meant by air pressure, so I just went with this.

I see it working as an Emitter type Quirks that activates whenever the user makes a strong disturbance in the air with their body. After this disturbance, the Quirk amplifies it, causing it to have a lot more power behind it then it would otherwise. This makes it so a random punch in the air cannot only hit its target from a distance, but do more damage to the target. And in spite of it being just pushed air, it is surprisingly accurate. Despite being such a simple idea, it can actually have several applications, giving the user a lot of range in both senses of the word. The use can attack in unpredictable ways, launch themselves around with certain air attacks, fling the opponents around, knock obstacles aside, or even chain them together to get a better attack off. Though this can only be used in relation to the user’s body and it will require some practice to get right. The Quirk will also requires some build up to get the intended effect, possible leaving the user open. A possible name for the Quirk could be “Warped Wind”.

In the Brain of the Bird

For as long as I have run this blog, I have always disliked the idea of Quirks that involve sentient creatures outside of the user. Whenever I bring it up, people will ask about “Dark Shadow” and how it is a Quirk involving another sentient creature. It is rather simple: I don’t think Dark Shadow is sentient. Dark Shadow is not its own creature, merely an extension of Tokoyami. Specifically, an extension of his Id; his primal instincts, impulses, and emotions.

Consider that Dark Shadow seem grows more out of control when Tokoyami loses composure. Due to his overall lack of panel time and calm personality, we rarely ever see Tokoyami show his emotions. However, there is still one time we see him get angry: The Vanguard Action Squad Attack. Dark Shadow came out in full force when he thought that his friend and classmate supposedly lost his hand to a villain. Notice how Dark Shadow didn’t go berserk until Shoji was attacked and he lost his “hand”. Dark Shadow just seem to burst out of Tokoyami, as if it was some kind of dam had just broken. Dark Shadow’s response could have simply been Tokoyami’s emotions getting out of hand due to the high stress of the situation.

Could it be that, on top of all light related conditions, Dark Shadow is very much influenced by Tokoyami’s emotions? If this really was the reason, it would also be understandable from a character perspective. Given Tokoyami’s often emotionless and quiet persona of faux edginess, it would make sense if he developed that way of acting as a way of keeping Dark Shadow under control. He would need to be emotionally stable or else he’ll lose control of Dark Shadow.

But what about all the times he speaks and attacks? This could also be explained away by it being an extension of his Id. All the times he speaks? Given how they are all simple thoughts like “I got this” or the like, these could simply be an extension what Tokoyami is subconsciously thinking at the time, with him being just too prideful or in control to say it himself. All the times he fights? The way it attacks doesn’t imply any sort of cognitive abilities, it’s more akin to a wild animal unless Tokoyami tells it otherwise. Both of these would make sense if Dark Shadow was an extension of Tokoyami’s primal, unfiltered emotions. Not to mention all the times Tokoyami has used it as a human shield. You think if it was sentient, it would have some issue with Tokoyami throwing it in front of attacks.

It also works as a reference to Tokoyami’s biggest comic book inspiration: DC’s Raven. Raven also had a great and powerful gift within her that was more of a double edge sword that was greatly influenced her emotions. Requiring her to keep calm and dull her emotions to keep if from getting out of control.

All though, this does give me the funny idea that the reason “Dark Shadow” is so powerful in the dark is because Tokoyami is scared of it. Makes sense from a character perspective. “This monster gets stronger because I’m afraid of the dark? Better surround myself in as much dark stuff as possible like some kind of immersion therapy.”

Anonymous asked:

Quirk Evolution for Tokoyami. Dark shadow can generate multiple beings from his body. It’s simple, but I think it fits.

quirkwizard answered:

I doubt that would be that case. Quirks don’t usually introduce something new when they develop in such a manner. It’s always something that grows off of something that is there, like Tsuyu learning to camouflage like a frog or Shoto training to use both of his sides. You could argue that it’s growing off the idea of “making a shadowy entity”, but I believe that it be more likely to develop with its preexisting traits like its malleability or how it interacts with light. Maybe if it was Tokoyami breaking down Dark Shadow into smaller entities, then maybe that could work. Otherwise, I think it would be for the best that it would be that Tokoyami gains more control over its form, gain more control in general, it becomes more resistant to light, or that it becomes less dependent on the day-night cycle.
